Personal: Gideon is married with one son. He was the former chair of the Juvenile Diabetes Association (Austin Chapter). He is active with JDF and the American Diabetes Association. He was an All-American pitcher, with a 17-0 record and 1.80 ERA, leading UT to the 1975 national championship. Jim was inducted into the University of Texas Longhorn Hall of Honor in 1992. Jim pitched for the Minnesota Twins and Texas Rangers.

Professional: Peterson began his group insurance career with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas in 1969. In 1983, he established an employee benefits division and TPA as a partner in a local multi-line agency. Pete founded Pete Peterson & Associates in 1989, an independent insurance agency, utilizing his experience to develop a successful group insurance marketing system - providing effective plan design, administrative simplicity, and cost-effective employee benefit solutions.

Personal: Pete celebrates his 50th wedding anniversary this year! Pete has one daughter and two granddaughters. Pete enjoys golf, travel, history, and UT athletics.
